John Sutphin III started S & S Land and Cattle Inc. in 1987 with just a handful of high quality registered cattle.  From there, the business has bloomed into a large scale operation with about 2,000 head of registered and commercial cattle, spread throughout Colorado, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma.  

The Colorado ranches are located near Lamar, where you can stop by and check out our program. We also have a bull pavilion, located in Wiley, CO, where we keep our weaned calves. Our yard manager does a great job at growing our cattle while keeping them in working condition. One of our top priorities is keeping the bulls feet sound & working on docility. Our bulls are ready to go to work, even in the harshest conditions. 

The Oklahoma ranch's headquarters are located in Southeastern Oklahoma. This addition was made during Colorado's drought of 2013 and has extended our herd and our family.

We have great ranch and yard managers and cowboys taking care of each ranch and keeping data up-to-date. Each and every day of hard work keeps this company flourishing.

Sales are held annually in Lamar, CO,  Winter Livestock in La Junta, CO, Syracuse Livestock Commission in Syracuse, KS in the spring.  We have added Florida to our sales for the fall breeders.
